Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

The Boeing 787, also marketed by the manufacturer under the nickname “Dreamliner”, is a twin-engine long-haul commercial aircraft from the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing for 200 to 440 passengers, depending on the version. It is the successor to the Boeing 767 and the first wide-body aircraft whose fuselage is largely made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic.

The “Dreamliner” is currently one of the most modern and efficient aircraft in the world. With around 2.5 litres of fuel per passenger per 100 kilometres of flight, the fuel consumption of the “Dreamliner” is up to 20% lower than that of a Boeing 767. The innovative technology, low weight, good aerodynamics, and state-of-the-art engines make the 787-9 significantly more efficient than its predecessor models and enable a reduced CO2 impact. By 2028, nine more Boeing 787-9s will gradually replace Austrian Airlines’ existing long-haul jets.
