“In any case, we have significantly increased the capacity of public transportation and expect this to reduce the number of journeys by private vehicle. The special ÖBB trains provided by us from Villach, Salzburg, Linz and Vienna will take you to the Judenburg or Knittelfeld train stations in a particularly sustainable, congestion-free and stress-free way, and the convenient free AIRPOWER shuttles will take you directly to the AIRPOWER24 event site in just a few minutes! We will therefore be able to significantly reduce congestion on the access roads and the higher-ranking road network this year, even though a certain amount of congestion cannot be completely avoided with the expected influx at the morning and evening peak, as with any other major event,” explains Brigadier Wolfgang Prieler, AIRPOWER24 Project Manager.
The first 1,000 bus tickets for just 24 euros!
“With our own bus lines with hundreds of possible boarding points throughout Austria, you can get directly to the event site. The first 1,000 bus tickets cost just 24 euros at a special preferential price, regardless of where in Austria you want to travel from. Furthermore, after the end of the flight program at 5 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday until 7 p.m., additional program items, such as an open-air cinema, sports demonstrations and military music performances, will be offered directly in the AIRPOWER24 spectator area to further relieve the evening traffic peak,” adds Colonel Peter Braun, the project manager for all AIRPOWER24 traffic issues.
Parking tickets already available
If you still want to arrive by car or motorcycle, you will need a parking ticket, which can be booked via Ö-Ticket (www.oeticket.com) in advance. From all parking areas, you can either walk or take one of the free AIRPOWER shuttles directly to the event site. There is also a dedicated motorcycle parking area in the vicinity of the site, which can also be booked in advance via Ö-Ticket. From the parking lot in Kraubath directly next to the S36, you can take a free shuttle train to the event site. The parking ticket is also valid as a train ticket. Persons with physical impairments have their own accessible parking spaces at their disposal. These spaces can be used free of charge upon presentation of the disabled person’s disabled pass.
“However, you have the greatest flexibility if you are traveling from the region by bike. It is possible to travel directly to the event site and park your bike in a separate and secure parking area at the Zeltweg sports center,” concludes Braun.
