High consent to AIRPOWER event

“Proof of the good partnership between the Austrian Armed Forces and the province of Styria!”

Vienna / Zeltweg (September 26, 2024) – On 06. and 7 September 2024 the Austrian Armed Forces organized AIRPOWER24 at Hinterstoisser Air Base in Zeltweg together with its partners the Province of Styria and Red Bull. “Over 250,000 visitors to the event site and tens of thousands more aviation enthusiasts on the grounds of Hinterstoisser Air Base, over ten million euros in added value for the region, a significant increase in overnight stays and a media advertising value of over four million euros in national media alone are the first impressive figures for the AIRPOWER weekend in Zeltweg at the beginning of September. And also very important for us: We award all supplier, catering and beverage contracts for an AIRPOWER event 100% in the region!”, says Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner.

Region impressively stands by AIRPOWER.

The Murtal region and Styria have an impressive stance on AIRPOWER: In a survey wave representative of the Austrian population as a whole (Austria-wide n = 1,000) and an additional representative survey in the Murtal region and Upper Styria (n = 302), the independent Institute for Demoscopy and Data Analysis (IFDD) surveyed the attitude of the population towards AIRPOWER in Zeltweg immediately after AIRPOWER24 during the study period from September 12 to 20, 2024, both throughout Austria and with a special evaluation for the region. The result is clear: the region has a clear majority of 98% in favor of AIRPOWER (75% very important and 23% somewhat important), compared to an impressive 79% across Austria (56% very important and 23% somewhat important).

The survey results for Hinterstoisser Air Base as a location and important employer in the Murtal region are also impressive: 87% of respondents across Austria rate the importance of Hinterstoisser Air Base as very important (57%) or somewhat important (30%) for the region and Upper Styria, with a remarkable 94% of respondents in the region rating it as very important (69%).
